Full-time Preschool Classroom Aide

Title:   PRESCHOOL AIDE - FULL-TIME

Salary Range:  As per EGEA salary guide based on experience - $139.66-$190.32 per day

Benefits: Single Coverage Medical/Prescription/Dental

Qualifications:
Certification/License

• 60 college credits or NJ Substitute Certification or Passing of the ParaPro Assessment (One is required)

 
Education:

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent

 
Knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Knowledge of child growth and development and appropriate classroom practices
• Ability to assist with classroom activities
• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and perform arithmetic operations as needed
• Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Work, Excel)
• Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals, including students with developmental disabilities
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others
• Ability to establish a supportive and compassionate relationship with students
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work
• Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required
• Effective writing and verbal communication skills
• Must pass criminal background check and fingerprints, pre-employment drug screening and TB test

 
Experience:

• Prior experience working with preschool-aged children desirable

 
Reports To:  Supervisor of Early Childhood and Building Principal as designated by the Superintendent
 
Purpose: Under the direct supervision of a certified staff member, to assist certified professional staff with students to meet instructional goals and objectives, to provide supplemental support to students and to free certified professional employees from non-professional duties to enable them to make contributions to other aspects of the educational program.
