Title:     PART-TIME COOK FOR THE 26/27 SCHOOL YEAR


Salary Range: As per EGEA salary guide based on experience $21.72/hr to $26.72/hr

Benefits: No benefits for part-time employees

Compensation Program:  Defined Contribution Retirement Program (DCRP)


Qualifications:  

  • Knowledge and skill of food preparation.
  • Experience in quantity cooking.
  • Must be able to complete the Ten Hour Food Sanitation Course.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Friendly and courteous.
  • Must pass criminal background check and fingerprints, pre-employment drug screening and TB test.
  • Pass a physical examination in accordance with statue and board policy.
  • Such additions and alternative to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Or former position that offered experience to successfully perform the duties of the position.


Reports To:

Cafeteria Manager


Performance Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for preparation of meals and organization of the cafeteria.
  • Set-up main entr�e and vegetables on both serving lines.
  • Prepare and cook main entree, lunch bag entree and vegetables.
  • Wash all pots, pans, and trays used in preparing food when time permits.
  • Check and refill lines between lunches.
  • Pan-up all entrees and vegetables for next meal.
  • Assist with clean up of serving areas and lunch tables.
  • Clean up cooking areas.
  • Check menu daily and take food from freezer.
  • Clean ovens, steamer and fryer, when used or when necessary.
  • Keep refrigerator and freezer neat and orderly.
  • Perform any other tasks or duties assigned by the Cafeteria Manger.


Terms of Employment:

Ten month part-time position, approximately 4 hours per day for 181 days a year. Salary established by the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
